NTT DoCoMo to Deliver Super 3G Services on Existing 3G Infrastructure
January 05, 2007
As a follow up to Asia Express dated July 14, 2006, NTT DoCoMo plans to deliver Super 3G services by using and updating its current infrastructure for 3G services, rather than install separate equipment for Super 3G services. The decision is expected to help NTT DoCoMo reduce its investment in Super 3G to less than one-tenth of what it planned to invest. The company also stated that the Super 3G field tests are slated to kick off in 2007, with services aiming to hit the market by 2010.
